1st Birthday!

So, it's been a month since I've blogged. Computer issues. Business. Vacation. All of the above. Part of what I love about doing what I do is being able to dream. I love the gowns that come in. Satins, laces, chiffons, beading, appliques, buttons, overlays. Deciding what to use where. Some gowns are plain, some are fancy just like our mommie's taste, the christening gowns and accessories take on their flavor. We also love new challenges!

Mommy brought to us her prom gown, pink satin and tulle with beads to make her daughter her 1st birthday dress. We had made her daughter's christening gown already from her wedding gown. We love knowing our customers are happy with us...enough to come back. We were unable to use the bodice of the gown because of the detailing so we created a new bodice with the pink satin and an overlay of the tulle & beading. Mom had saved the spaghetti straps with beading and we used the satin and tulle on the bottom of the dress. A cute bow on a clip completed her outfit. I tried to post a picture of the original dress, but the computer issues continue!

Laney's Pageant Gown

Due to the publicity we had received, a mom contacted us to create a one of a kind gown for her daughter to wear in her upcoming California pageant. Laney recently won Jr. Miss Pre-Teen New Jersey. Not only does Laney participate in pageants, she also models and is an actress! Mom brought us a picture as inspiration for the gown. The gown is satin with an overlay of beaded lace on the top and organza on the bottom. Laney just loved it, can you tell?

Ta da! We are so exited to announce we have launched our new website which contains more information about us and what we do as well as our pricing structure, products and contact information.  A 'shout out' to my brother Richard for all the work he did for us on this site and especially putting up with his "control freak" sister. Christening Bib

Baby needs a bib for his/her special day too! The bibs can be made to coordinate with with the custom made outfit & shoes. We will also be offering them for sale on our upcoming website. This one is embroidered in silver but we could instead embroider baby's name and christening day.

Baby Blankies

While waiting for our latest customer to pick up her christening gown so we can post the new pics, we've been continuing our work on items to be shown at the Spring YHD show (Your Hearts Desire)  March 15-24. (Check out their website www.yhdcrafts.com for all information.) I get loads of inspiration from one of my favorite websites: www.Sew4Home.com. They had the cutest baby blankie, made with 100% cotton knit and matching hats. The hats are knotted 2 different ways, one knot on top or two knots, kind of like a bunny. I made mine in traditional baby prints but they had done theirs in some rockin' fabric using fabric from one of my favorite online fabric stores: www.fabric.com.

These would make wonderful baby shower or welcome home baby gifts. The blanket would be wonderful personalized with baby's name (did I mention we now have embroidery machines?)

Meanwhile, Angie has been busy creating the cutest little girl aprons, bunny, froggie and lady bug. We're making size 5-6 but can make other sizes as well. These were made using a traditional sewing pattern.

Branching Out!!

Thanks to Santa we both now own embroidery/sewing machines and are busy at work creating new and different items. We can do all sizes in children's and infants shirts/onsies. Feel free to contact us with your ideas!
