Puppy Love

Here comes the.....bridesmaid puppy! In between christening creations, we're sometimes asked to create some interesting custom items. This doggy will be included in the wedding photos. 

Where Has The Summer Gone?

Amazingly it's been over a month since I "blogged".  We had the good fortune to meet someone at a show we did "Paws for Cancer" who suggested we get in touch with her friend who owned a Pet Boutique in Smithville, NJ called Paw Dazzle. She thought our doggie couture would be right up her alley! And sure enough it was. We now have our "One of a Kind K9 Couture" in her store.

In just a few weeks our handmade items will also appear in consignment at YHD, Toms River, NJ (Your Hearts Desire Crafts Boutique) at the Silverton First Aid building, 86 Maine St. from Oct. 19-28th, Mon-Thurs. & Sat. 10 am to 5 pm, Fri. 10 am to 7 pm and Sunday Noon to 5 pm. then Fri., Sat. & Sun. in November.

In addition, we'll be showing at Bay Head Country Accents Boutique, in Opdyke Furniture Store, Highway 35, Pt. Pleasant Beach, NJ from Oct. 24th to Dec. 9th every day from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, Sun. 10 am to 5 pm. On Oct. 24th they will have their traditional Wine & Cheese kick off from 5 to 7:30 pm, the $12 admission goes to Provident House, a home for battered women, along with 10% of the sales for the evening. It's a pleasure being associated with them.

And of course, we are currently working on a new christening gown, look for pictures soon!

Dog Fest 2011

What a great day! I've never seen so many different kinds, shapes and sizes of dogs. Angie's "grandpuppies" attended and entered the Costume Contest with a bride and groom costume she made and won First Prize! They attracted a lot of attention, which meant lots of customers for us! Many people took their pictures and how good were they, especially when we kept changing their costumes? Along with our handmade costumes (Juan Bow-Dez, Dinosaur, Bunny, Cow, Bumble Bee, Pumpkins and Santa) in a variety of sizes, we also had coats and hats (as modeled by some of our "customers") and fleece NFL coats, which were a big hit. We've Gone to the Dogs!

It's been a busy summer! We signed up to participate in the 2nd Annual Dog Fest being held at Winward Beach in Brick NJ hosted by the Rotary Club. The proceeds benefit Projects for Brick. So, we've been busy sewing dog clothes and costumes. Kids aren't the only ones we like to dress. We enlisted the help of some of our doggy friends to show off some of our costumes and clothing. While they're not professionals we think they did a pretty good job even though they were more interested in socializing with each other. Lucy was the most patient so we got more pictures of her than the others. Our thanks to Mikey, Vegas and Marcie and of course Lucy.
