Final Posting

With much thought and prayer I have decided to totally retire. Angie will continue in our fine tradition of custom made christening gowns, rompers, teddy bears, tree skirts, bibs, shoes, ornaments, etc. I will certainly miss the joy I see on the faces of our moms and grandmoms when they see their dreams come true but I moved quite a distance away from Angie and the commute was getting tough! Please continue to use the link to the website to contact her. I have every confidence Angie can make whatever you need from your wedding gown. I am so happy to have been a part of so many special days. Here's our final order done togethe for a friend of my daughter's, Stacy for her baby Tiffany Rose. May God bless you all.

 

New Shoes!

We are always looking to add to our product selections and this new shoe style can be used as a boy's shoe or "glammed" up for a girl. We think it would look adorable with a little cross embroidered on the toe for a christening shoe. We think they are just adorable!

Kate's Christening

Baby Kate's mom sent us her wedding gown as well as her late mother's wedding veil with lace. She was hoping we could make a coat for over the christening gown with the veil but the netting was too frail. We took off the lace and applied it over the organza overlay of her gown. We also used it to embellish the diaper cover, bib and bonnet. The bib will be used by her nephew, who is going to be christened the same day as her daughter. The shoes were fashioned out of fabric from the gown's bodice. She requested ties for the back so it could possible be used for a smaller child and a Peter Pan collar, which we made out of the organza. These shoes were the largest I have made so far!!

Althea

Althea requested a simple romper for her son with shoes and a messenger cap to complete the look. The romper had just a small button at the top, under the collar and short pants for the summer weather. She sent a picture to us as a sample to follow. To date these were the biggest shoes we had ever made but we we just received an order with shoes for a 1 year old.

 

Susan's Dream

Susan sent us her gown from California after finding our website and watching our video. Guess we looked "okay". Ha ha. She said after watching the video she had no problem sending her gown across the country. We had a phone conference to decide what she'd like for her granddaughter after we saw her gown. Here's what Susan said after receiving her finished creations: "I am pleased to let you know the box arrived. It was a thrill to open it and take out each sweet piece. Everything is lovely. I am so pleased to have found you. I've shared the photos you sent and everyone loves what you created. Thank you for being so gracious and easy to work with. I'll send photos of the christening day. Kind regards, Susan." Thank you too Susan!!

 

Olivia

From beautifully adorned gown and veil we created a christening gown, bonnet and shoes. Mom wanted the bottom of the skirt to be used with it's satin band and appliques and the beadwork in the gown bodice for babie's bodice. We used the veil  and decorative beadwork to create sheer decorative sleeves.

 

We tried something new, adorning the covered satin buttons with beads & "bling". Mom decided on ballet type shoes, which we adorned with beading from the veil. We also used the beaded bodice to create the bonnet.

Emmalynn

Emmalynn's gown was created using grandma's gown, which unfortunately had yellowed with age, not so much the fabric but the crocheted lace was almost brown. Angie was able to get it back to a cream color but the blue velvet ribbon had to go! We replaced it with a cream ribbon. Emmalynn's mom wanted a more unisex look "in case" so we edged the gown with the lace and created pin tucks in the bodice. The crocheted lace was used for the open backed bonnet, a favorite of ours for fit and hot days. Our newest item is matching panties, using lace & ribbon. Of course what outfit is comple without the matching shoes, also created using the crocheted lace.

Eliana - Sweetness in Lace

Mom's gown came to us as lace covered satin, with silver embelishments, including little silver faux buttons. Instead of doing the "usual" with the lace on the bottom, we placed the lace on the bodice, with just the lace on the puffy sleeves. Since the bottom would be a little plain compared to the bodice, the beautiful silver trim from her veil became the silver trim on the bottom of the dress. This was handstitched on with invisible thread! The bonnet had the lace trim and the shoes were done in lace covered satin with the date of the christening embroidered on the bottom.

 

 

 

Handmade IS better!

Just ask anyone who owns couture! We are constantly amazed at how the wedding gowns we work with are constructed. Amazing what the industry gets away with. Not only the construction, but the alterations which we know our customers pay dearly for! Not many brides get "up close and personal" with their wedding gowns the way we do when we construct their christening outfits. We are picky, picky, picky in the construction of our products.

For the Boys

Boys need Christening shoes too! These little lace up shoes can be decorated with pearls from mom's gown and can also have the christening date embroidered on the sole of the shoe. The ribbon laces can also be any color desired.
